Job Description :

• Local eyes and hands for administrators and support personnel from other locations;


• Fixing hardware issues as instructed for all kinds of network equipment (e.g. switch chassis and module replacement, wireless access point replacement, router replacement etc) and processing returns (i.e. RMA) with vendors;


• Hardware installations (e.g. racking, cabling, etc.) and documentation;


• Hardware upgrades and decommission;


• Check, trace and fix cabling issues;


• Receiving equipment, unpacking and assembly, and disposal of packing materials as may be required by policies of Client;


• Support initial configuration of equipment to get network connectivity by applying script provided by Client; rest of the installation work can be done remotely;


• Asset tracking of equipment and spare parts;


• Verify network equipment requirements with requestor and submit quotes to System Leads via email as necessary;


• Cisco xOS upgrades according to Client’s processes and procedures;


• Document installations according to Client’s procedures through inventory tool, Cisco LMS/Prime and installation documentation in the ITEMS (SAP) document management system;


• Follow Client’s processes for change management, incident management, problem management, configuration management;


• Decommissioning and removal of equipment;


• Run network patch cables in closets and computer rooms in order to install/activate/replace/decommission network components according to Client’s procedures.


• Monitor Client’s ticketing tool queue and work on the tickets as requested


• Troubleshooting all cabling tickets. If a new cable run is requested/required, request Engineering new cable run, patch accordingly in the switch in the closet, activate the switch port and update inventory tool


• Inform any network port shortage or potential issues to Client Network team


• Escort Client’s vendors (providers, cabling contractors, consultants, etc.), and dispatch on campus premises.


• Add/Move/Replace VOIP phone endpoints


• Assist with Video Conference roll-outs and service


• Understand PSTN phone resource locations


• Open and follow-up tickets with local Telco providers


• Perform basic hands on tasks in Computer Rooms – racking hardware, cabling, hard drive replacements and decommissioning of hardware and cabling


• Perform yearly audit of Computer room access


• Assist in requalification of Computer rooms every 3 years


• Assist in updating local Disaster Recovery Master Plan every 2 years.


• Commission servers to allow for remote access.


Required Qualifications :
Be willing to relocate to Barceloneta.
