Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs, paint among others to always maintain the property and equipment up to the Hotel standard and best possible condition with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and employees.
Education & Experience
Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful
Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
Physical requirements
Flexible and long hours sometimes required
Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Mental requirements
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
Must routinely meet deadlines
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary

Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag while on duty
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Opyssa Puerto Rico standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to business levels
Comply at all times with Opyssa Puerto Rico standards to ensure safe and efficient daily operation
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests and employees
Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow employees
Make repairs to the Resort air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils and replace motors
Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment
Take required readings on all equipment
Replace and program televisions as needed
Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures
Perform furniture repair
Replace and repair pumps
Perform plumbing repairs: clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, etc.
Understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
Trace and repair all types of water lines
Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment
Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records
Perform and maintain work to local, state and federal codes
Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas
Paint designated areas
Repair and finish sheet rock
Repair all types of wall coverings
Repair and program hotel electronic lock system
Anything else requested by management
Minor
Assist in scheduling preventative maintenance tasks
Attend meetings/training as required by management
Available to work overtime when requested by management
