Job Description :
The Director of Sales is responsible for the planning, development, execution, and overall management of sales & catering programs consistent with, and supportive of the property’s overall business objectives for both core and outer markets.

 


  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards. 

  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests. 

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.

  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities/promotions to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.

  • Direct and coordinate company sales and marketing functions to identify and develop new customers for products and services. 

  • Share the Hotel’s sales strategies with the Social Media Manager. 

  • In conjunction with the F&B Supervisor, Kitchen Supervisor and Revenue Manager, create, establish and execute special themed events whose objective is to maximize income and add value to the experience of our guests and visitors

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in years of experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in rooms, corporate and catering sales. 

  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbal and non-verbal. 

  • Provide legible communication. 

  • Ability to:  Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, Think clearly, can remain calm, and solve problems using good judgment and service recovery process, Follow specific directions thoroughly, Understand guests’ service needs, Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team, Work with minimal supervision, Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. 

  • Knowledge of brand programs, brand standards and brand key measurements job functions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Familiarity with developing and analyzing statistical reports.

  • Excellent computational ability. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. 

  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. 

  • Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts. 

  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. 

  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, AM and PM shifts.


Desirable

1. Certification of CPR. 

2. Previous guest relations training.

3. Certification of previous training in computers.
